چکیده
contexts hepatocellular carcinoma (hcc) is one of the most common malignant diseases in the world. because less than 20% of patients with hcc are resectable, various types of non-surgical treatment have been developed. evidence acquisition at present, radiofrequency ablation (rfa) is accepted as the standard local treatment for patients with hcc because of its superior local control and overall survival compared to other local treatments. results new devices for rfa and combination treatments of rfa with other procedures have been developed to improve anti-tumoral effects. conclusions this review mainly focuses on the status of rfa in the management of hcc and recent advances in rfa treatment technology.

Recent Advances in Radiofrequency Ablation for the Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
UNLABELLED CONTEXTS: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant diseases in the world. Because less than 20% of patients with HCC are resectable, various types of non-surgical treatment have been developed. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION At present, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is accepted as the standard local treatment for patients with HCC because of its superior local contr...

In order to attain better ablation and more effective management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), new approaches and devices in radiofrequency ablation (RFA) therapy were presented and discussed in a workshop at the 50th Annual Meeting of the Liver Cancer Study Group of Japan. A novel bipolar RFA apparatus was introduced in Japan in January 2013. Hundreds of subjects with HCC were treated wit...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver metastases are common cancers worldwide. Recent imaging modalities have been able to detect HCC and liver metastases at an early stage, with surgical resection as the choice of management. However, because of poor liver reserve, co-existing liver cirrhosis and multiplicity of tumors, resection is only feasible in 10-30% of HCC or liver metastases on pres...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignancies, ranking fifth in frequency among all malignancies in the world. HCC is characterised by rapid tumour growth and a high propensity of vascular invasion. Furthermore, 80% of patients with HCC have associated liver cirrhosis related to hepatitis B or C viral infection, which often restricts treatment options because of impaired...

Image-guided tumor ablation for early stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an accepted non-surgical treatment that provides excellent local tumor control and favorable survival benefit. This review summarizes the recent advances in tumor ablation for HCC. Diagnostic imaging and molecular biology of HCC has recently undergone marked improvements. Second-generation ultrasonography (US) contras...
